All four installments of the legendary 2004 "samurai champloo music record" CD series that collected the tracks by Nujabes, Fat Jon and more is getting a cassette tape release to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Samurai Champloo!

Samurai Champloo is a TV anime series that originally aired on Fuji TV from 2004 to 2005. The never-before-seen style, which blended historical action/drama with modern hip-hop culture and featured a hip-hop exclusive soundtrack, made waves all over the world. The director Shinichiro Watanabe was well known for creating anime with a perfect sense of music, from "Cowboy Bebop" to "Macross Plus."

The music is brought to you by four trackmakers: Nujabes, fat jon, FORCE OF NATURE and Tsutchie. Each of their styles come together to create something like an original album. Every single track still shines brightly even now. It's a masterpiece that hip-hop artists in particular to this day share wholeheartedly with the next generation. In 2022, the series' vinyl reissue became a runaway hit, selling over 30,000 copies total.
